Objective:
To increase the participants' level of knowledge
for inspection of overhead lifting devices, which include bridge,
gantry, monorail, fixed hoists and jib wall mounts.
Time:
A 3-day program consisting of 4 to 8 hours
of classroom workshops (depending on the number of hoist devices
required
to cover) and a 4 to 8 hours hands-on session. This
is followed
by a hands-on evaluation and written exam. Maximum of
8 participants per course.
Classroom Subjects:
* Hoist Chain Inspection
* Wire Rope Inspection
* Daily, Monthly, Annual Checklists
* Brakes
* Limit Switches
* Structural
* Drive Trains
* OSHA/ASME Standards
Hands On Session:
Actual inspection of client's cranes will be performed
during the hands-on sessions.
Location & Equipment:
The course is conducted at a client-provided classroom
facility (complete with a computer projector, screen, and chalk
or marker board) and overhead lifting devices. We prefer two cranes
be available, however it is not required. One would be used for
classroom activities and one for performance evaluations.
Materials & Fees:
Each participant receives a course manual and inspection
tools. Certification (for in-house inspections only) is available
for an additional fee.
