Objective:
To train and qualify participants
in selected subject areas which may include sling fabrication,
socketing, and proof testing.
Time:
The time required to conduct this
program varies from 1 to 4 days, depending upon the number of
participants and the number of subject areas they are attempting
to qualify in.
Classroom Subjects:
The participant will take a written
exam in each subject area he/she is attempting to qualify in.
The subjects currently available for qualification are:

complete steps of fabrication (2 items) in each subject area he/she
is attempting to qualify in.
Skill Measurement:
Written exams (80% to pass) will
be administered. The fabricated items are inspected for quality
and proficiency, then pulled to destruction to confirm efficiency.
Breaks are reviewed as typical vs. non-typical. The instructor
may ask questions of the participant to confirm his/her knowledge
level of the subjects. The entire process is documented, including
wire rope certificates, test machine calibration records, swaging
die checks, rigger's written tests and break test records.
Location & Equipment:
The course is conducted at a client-provided
facility. The client provides all necessary materials and equipment
necessary for the fabrication process.
Materials:
Each participant receives a Course
Manual and basic fabrication procedures.
Those qualifying receive a Qualification
