Program Sessions:
* Wire Rope & Wire Rope Slings
* Synthetic Sling Products
* Chain Slings
* Rigging Hardware
* Below-the-Hook Lifting Devices
Participants learn the removal criteria
for the above gear according to the applicable OSHA, ASME, ASTM
and AISI regulations, standards & guidelines.
Hands On Session:
Participants are given Written Exams
and perform Hands On Inspections of used and damaged gear to test
their knowledge of the inspection criteria learned.
The program begins with a field
trip to view hand forging of rigging hardware, sling fabrication,
splicing, socketing, proof testing and destructive testing procedures.
Participants who successfully pass
the program are issued a three year Level I Certification.
Level II is available at this time
to those who meet on-the-job inspection requirements. Details
will be discussed.
